About Our Volunteer Program

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Hermitage No-Kill Cat Shelter. Volunteers are critical to the work we do; we absolutely could not care for the number of cats we do without these dedicated individuals!

Volunteer Requirements & Process

Eligibility

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • After your application has been submitted, you will receive a separate email containing a link to complete a background check through our third-party platform, Express Background Checks. This is a mandatory step in our volunteer process and must be completed before moving forward.
  • The Hermitage No-Kill Cat Shelter & Sanctuary (“Hermitage”) does not accept or provide volunteer opportunities for individuals seeking to fulfill court-ordered community service or court-ordered volunteer service requirements or any other mandated service hours imposed by a court, probation department, diversion program, or other legal authority. Volunteer service with Hermitage is limited to individuals who choose to participate on a purely voluntary or educational-related basis and not as part of any legal obligation.
