Food for People's Pets

Since 2007, The Hermitage Cat Shelter has run a program called “Food For Peoples’ Pets”. Our shelter collects donations of dog and cat food all year long and distributes it to Food Banks in Tucson, where it is given, along with meals, to the homeless and needy to feed their pets. These organizations also distribute cat and dog food to shut-ins they know can’t afford to feed their pets.

The bags and cans of cat and dog food that you donate will help prevent cats and dogs being abandoned on the streets. Just a few cans or bags of pet food can make a big difference in the life of a dog or cat! Please help! The need is even more urgent during this economic downturn. Do it for the sake of the animals. You can make a difference!

Listed below are permanent locations where you can drop off cat or dog food…

  • The Hermitage Cat Shelter, 5278 E. 21st Street
  • Animal Health Hospital, 2560 S. Harrison Rd
  • Dirty Dawgs, 3055 N. Campbell Ave., #133
  • Continental Ranch Pet Clinic, 7850 N Silverbell Rd Ste 108
  • University Pet Clinic, 1506 N. Tucson Blvd.
  • PETCO Stores at Broadway & Craycroft, Pantano & Wrightstown and The Tucson Mall.

If it is not convenient for you to drop off pet food at any of these locations, you can send a check to the Hermitage Cat Shelter or make a secure donation through Network for Good designated for this program, and we will use your donation to buy the food.
