If this cat was adopted from the Hermitage please click here.
We are starting to schedule a few intakes but it is limited, and appointments may scheduled for a month out. Cats must have been tested for FIV & FeLV. See below for a list of Low Cost clinics. Currently our FIV & FeLV wards are full. See below for Pawsitively Cats info if you have FIV or FeLV+ cats.
All intakes are by appointment only and must be approved by our Medical team. There is an intake fee of $240 per adult cat or $100 for a litter of kittens with proof of sterilization of the mother cat, otherwise it is $240 for the litter of kittens. This fee will help us to pay for the veterinary costs for the cat(s) until they are adopted.
This is a preliminary application to place your cat(s) at the Hermitage. We receive numerous e-mails and phone calls daily to ask of our intake policy and availability. We would love to grant all requests to accept all cats but we cannot as there are more cats in shelters as there are forever homes. Due to the fact we are a no-kill shelter, our space is very limited and we cannot guarantee your cat can be placed within our care. Our first priority is the cats who currently reside within our shelter. We reserve the right to decline your application if we feel your cat will not do well in our shelter for medical or behavioral reasons. Each application is reviewed by the medical team and will do our best to determine if we can accept anymore cats at the shelter. If the medical staff feel your cat(s) can be accepted they will call you to set up a date and time to bring your cat in. If you cannot keep your appointment, you MUST call the shelter to reschedule your appointment as cats are only accepted by the scheduled time. If you do not show up for your appointment you will not be re-considered as the space will be opened up to the next person.
We do not provide transportation to the shelter.
Your cat(s) must be brought to the shelter in a cat carrier or other humane carrier or case.
Once relinquished to the Hermitage, we reserve the right to determine if the cat(s) should be placed up for adoption.
